Party Time Sangria
By Tony Marban
Ingredients
- 1 bottle (750 ml) of red wine, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec or Merlot
- 3 1/4 cups of orange juice
- 1 1/2 cups of triple sec
- 1/4 cup of lime juice
- 3/4 cup of sugar or simple syrup
- Whole blueberries, halved strawberries, cubed pineapple, sliced orange
This is a beverage recipe that my sister brought back from Spain. She has been making it for years as part of our large family gatherings. One of the first questions guests ask is "Where's Marlene's sangria?" It's that good!
Combine ingredients in a large drink pitcher. Stir slowly for about 30 seconds and let chill overnight. When ready to serve, add a dozen ice cubes and stir lightly. Yields 10 glasses of sangria.
